Tavi L'Enfant Prodige

A few days ago, while I was looking for a newspaper to buy, my eyes were enticed by the cover of the last magazine L'Officiel. When I went closer, I noticed it was a special number celebrating the 90 years of the magazine, a tome of 528 pages of which the front cover, traditionnaly posting the last fashion personnality of the season, left place to a young (very young) girl with an eccentric look, sitting on a stool and having a pad in the hand, near which there was the indication : "Tavi, 15 years old, Blogger". My curiosity gained me and I bought the magazine.

I get back home, eager to know more about this strange creature coming from nowhere. I refered to the specific page and began reading the article. I was stunned. Inspired. Subdued. There was some photos, and Tavi had nothing of a common teenager. She dyed her hair gray, was wearing clothes challenging those of Lady gaga, was posing with some personnalities like Alexander Wang and Karl Lagerfeld (even grimacing with Alexa Chung in the front rows) and was devoted to the elaboration of an online fashion magazine, Rookie.

Ok. We still don't know from where this girl is coming.  Let's try to take the story back to its beginning. Tavi is American and from her native Illinois, feeds a blog since 2009 she kept secret of her circle of friends and family (so she began at the age of 13...), an experimental laboratory of fashion and creative discoveries from the cinematographic and literary world. So far, some 37 000 fans come to her blog to discover Tavi's opinion about about the latest fashion news.

Fascinated by Internet which she's considering as being the most powerful tool of documentation of the contemporary workd, she was propelled at the summit when an article talking about her was published in the New York Times. A bend for Tavi who is then contacted by Jean-Paul Goude who says she's the Diana Vreeland of tomorrow. She even speaks about the creator of Grace Jones as a matter of course. I'is Selfish, it is Vanessa Paradis and Chanel, it's the French Correction, she says. With an incredibly precocious maturity, Tavi impresses the photographer who says that when he saw the girl, he wanted to hold her by the neck and to speak to her like a child but when she spoke to him, he was watching out of what he was saying 'cause she was very intimidating.

More over, the child prodigy was working on two big projects : an online magazine which content should be updated three times a day (after school, before diner and before sleeping) and a book, Diary, dedicated to the teenagers' feminine concerns on a pretty different way, according to her.

Succession seem assured in the fashion world !

Moschino A Venezia

It's under the sky of Venice that takes place the last campaign of Moschino, which stylist Rossela Jardini surprises us brilliantly with a very "sailor-military" and preppy collection. A very masculine collection in which the Miss Moschino, with shades of a feminine Corto Maltese , wears with pride captains' caps, spencers and blazers heightened of linings and other flowery accessories.
A beautiful way of prolonging summer a little bit longer...
